Hannah Gardner
I’m a 4th year political science student at the University of Victoria. I’m excited to be taking EDCI 335 and be a part of this community.
Why did I take this class?
I chose this class as one of my three last electives I need to graduate with no expectations. I have been so pleasantly surprised about what I have learned in the first week and I am very excited to engage creatively in what the course has to offer. The ability to express creativity in political science courses is limited, so this is a new learning environment for me.
My mom and friends attended my defense and made me feel very loved and supported. I would not have been able to complete my thesis without them to fall back on.
Last month I completed my 50-page honours thesis and successfully defended it in front of a panel. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. After procrastinating for too long, I cranked it out between January-April. I developed a raging caffeine addiction and I never want to write anything that big again but it was definitely a super rewarding experience.

this last summer I tried wake surfing for the first time.
i frequently visit my partner and friends in Maryland. It’s where I spent most of my childhood.
i love animals! this is my dog, kylo. he’s a belgian malinois and he’s about 90 pounds.
when i am in Victoria i probably swim in the ocean just about every other day.
